Outreach &
Education
In addition to providing support and assistance for people using
the facilities at the centre, The Life Home Project provides help
in the community for people affected by or infected with HIV, including
those people living in slums. This help takes a variety of forms,
depending upon individual circumstances but may include practical
assistance, support in accessing medical care and counseling and
advice. We regularly visit hospitals and clinics to offer our services
and to let people know that we are available for support should
they wish to use us.

The Project also runs a telephone 'hotline' for concerned people
to contact for advice, counseling and information about HIV.
We believe that part of our function, as well as working towards
lessening the impact of HIV on individuals, is to raise awareness
of the condition and to contribute to reducing infection rates.
We are happy to provide information and health education to groups
wherever possible, such as women groups, local students, immigrants
living in slum areas, and groups on risk like sex workers and their
clients.
