The Life
Home Centre
The main focus
of our work is the Life Home Centre which provides the base for
our programs and acts as a residential shelter for women and children
who have no where else to live, either because they have been rejected
by their communities or because they have lost their work (and thereby
their homes) through illness.
We provide a supportive environment where people are accepted and
respected, and where, without denying the realities of people's
lives, we concentrate on living life positively. While of course
there are some sad times at the centre, it is mostly a place of
joy!
As well as proving accommodation for those people who need it,
the centre also acts as a safe space where people can come together
to share their experiences and enjoy various activities and social
events.
Unfortunately we cannot provide medical facilities, but we have
a nursing room to provide more intensive care to people who need
it
