Women Children and the HIV /AIDS epidemc

All around the world the AIDS epidemic is changing and threatening new groups. Specially endangered are housewives, young spouses and girlfriends, as they are their newborn babies.

Most of the HIV+ women has been infected at their own homes, in their own beds, by their husbands.

Cultural and economic reasons deprive most of the women of all cultures and conditions to protect themselves and their babies from getting infected and condemned to suffering and death.

Lack of freedom, education and access to prevention is extending the HIV/AIDS epidemic dramatically.

The difficulty to reach this groups increases the risk of new increases on the infection rates, specially in those countries where women cannot make their own choices.

Is absolutely necessary that governments and society mobilize themselves and change and increase their prevention policies. Is time to change the targets. Is time to transfer the responsibility of the much needed prevention to the male. Only encouraging male responsibility and behavioral changes in this group, will prevents the epidemic to spread rapidly to women and newborn babies around the world .
